John explains his work:
I draw pictures of women fighting because it excites me! Initially I drew b&w with a biro, but now usually in colour. I’ve been influenced by girl fight artists of the past, Eneg most of all. One of my best works, I think, is an illustrated story that pays homage to his classic tale, ‘The Maid from Mars’. That it’s a completely one-sided fight, with one girl being mercilessly beaten up, is my specialty, and that’s the way most of my stories are, with the violence graphically illustrated.
Another of my favourites is ‘Candi’ vs Amy’. This, a b&w picture tale, was commissioned by a lady who wanted a fight to be illustrated, where the loser is thrashed and humiliated in front of a baying group of onlookers. She also described a real life incident in which this happened to her, and her words are contained in the file I created for her.
